Our home is a 2 story, 4 bedroom house in family safe area north of Boston. On the main floor, the bright eat-in kitchen was recently renovated and has all amenities. The fireplaced living room holds a piano and harpsichord. Our inviting family room has a wide screen digital TV with cable, DVD, stereo and a treadmill. There is also a bathroom on this level. Just outside the family room, the outdoor deck has a table, lots of seating and a gas grill perfect for both a leisurely breakfast or dining al fresco on warm summer nights. The 7 person spa/hot tub located on the deck is great for cooling off during the day or viewing the stars and summer meteor storms at night.

Upstairs, the master bedroom and 2nd bedroom both have queen beds. The 3rd & 4th bedrooms each have single beds. The bathroom on this floor has both shower and tub. There is wireless internet throughout the house.

The lower level of the house has a washer and dryer and a ping pong table. Bikes and car available for your use. A beautiful large yard with view surrounds the house.

Our safe tree-lined street and neighborhood are great for biking, walking and meeting neighbors. The state forest affords a beautiful hike through the woods. Golf courses and tennis courts are not far.

Visit the many uncrowded and beautiful ocean beaches nearby, go on a Whale Watch, (totally amazing!) canoe or kayak in nearby lakes and coastal areas. If you are interested in early American history, you can tour museums, such as the renowned Peabody Essex Museum, and visit colonial homes and areas. Close by, towns such as Salem and Newburyport have very active social scenes with live music and good restaurants. There are lots of stores, malls and discount outlets, several movie theaters, indoor rock climbing, bowling alleys in the vicinity. If you enjoy the outdoors, we can make suggestions for hiking, camping and rock climbing.

The entire New England area is known for its seafood, beaches, historic sites, museums, and active cultural arts scene. You can reach Boston in 30 minutes by car or train. A city of 700,00 people with a greater metropolitan area population of several million, it has so much to do depending on your interests. It's wonderful and very easy to walk through Boston's vibrant and varied neighborhoods but you can use the subway (known as the "T".) There are many different types of museums and art galleries, jazz clubs and restaurants for all tastes. We'd be happy to suggest those that may appeal to your personal interests.

While in Boston, visit the amazing outdoor sea lion tanks at the Aquarium and walk through the beautiful Public Gardens and Boston Common, the historic and ethnic North End (famous for Italian restaurants,) the hip South End, the romantic, cobblestone streets of Beacon Hill and Back Bay and trendy Newbury Street. Take one of the historic guided walks, bike, kayak and canoe along the river or go to a baseball game. Still using the T, visit Cambridge and Davis Square in Somerville, each filled with people day and night.

At night, go clubbing in Boston or Cambridge, attend an outdoor evening concert or movie, take a harbor cruise or simply a romantic walk along the waterfronts. Both our kids live in Boston and can suggest specific hot spots that might appeal to you.

Using our home as a base, you can also visit Cape Cod, famous for its beaches and small town ambiance. The Berkshire Mountains in western Massachusetts, White Mountains of New Hampshire and parts of Vermont are only 90 minutes away by car. The coastline of the more rustic and quaint state of Maine is less than an hour away. If you are interested in visiting New York City, you can get there by car or train in about 4 hours.

Joe (57), a Mechanical Engineer and Andrea (56), a band director and music teacher have been married for 32 years. Our children Jay (29), a Civil Engineer/Urban Planner and daughter Kimberly (25), a lawyer, both live in Boston and would be happy to assist you in any way. They occasionally join us on our exchanges. We love our home and neighborhood and enjoy music, history, steam trains and discovering things off the beaten path.
