Perth is a beautiful, clean, unpolluted city where you can enjoy sunny days, outdoor activities, cafes, and many, many pristine sandy beaches - with crystal clear waters.

This home is located in the inner city suburb "South Perth", across the Swan RIver from the city centre. Close to public transport (1min walk), cafes/restaurants, italian gourmet delicatessen, supermarket, post office, banks and a few specialty stores/boutiques. You can also walk to, and enjoy the local tennis courts, swimming pool and gym at Wesley College (after hours).

The home has a modern, award-winning, architect-designed renovation that includes a large living space which opens onto a large garden, complete with small vegetable patch, and BBQ area. The bedrooms are in the older part of the house, which is considered a "character home" in Perth, with high ceilings, polished wooden floor boards and large windows. Two of the rooms have a queen size bed and the third room has two single beds. The Master bedroom has an ensuite. Both, the ensuite and second bathroom, are modern and new.

From our house, you can walk to the Perth Zoo, Royal Perth Golf course and the beautiful, expansive Swan River where you can cycle, catamaran, picnic, have an icecream, coffee and cake!...... or catch a ferry to the city.

South Perth is an established, prestigious suburb with beautiful tree-lined streets. It is located close to the Perth city centre by car, bus or ferry boat. It is situated on the banks of the stunning Swan River, where you can enjoy walking or cycling around expansive parklands and experience unobstructed views of the Perth city centre skyline, by day or night! It is quite safe to walk around at night here. A short 15min walk from the house is the South Perth Ferry Terminal, where you can cross the tranquil Swan River into the city centre - you may be lucky enough to see one of the resident dolphins or pelicans - or the famous Black Swan.

South Perth has many high quality restaurants, eateries and cafes. It has banks, post offices, supermarkets, boutiques and more...many within a 2minute walk. The local Private Boys College opens its Sports Centre to the community, where you can use the tennis courts, gym, 50m swimming pool and more, for a very low cost (access is not permitted during College hours). The Royal Perth Golf Club is also close by, visitors from other Golf Clubs can play (green fees apply) - just bring a letter of introduction from your golf club.

In late spring, summer and early autumn, head to the coast which is only a 15 - 20minute drive (or you can catch a bus and train) and experience Perth's famous beaches, such as Cottesloe Beach. Also on the coast is Fremantle, the historic port, home to the Australian American cup bid. In Fremantle, you can visit the weekend markets, the Maritime Museam, tourist shops, or enjoy a coffee on the famous "cappuccino strip". From Fremantle, you can catch a ferry to Rottnest Island and spend a day swimming, snorkelling or diving in the crystal clear waters. There are no vehicles allowed on Rottnest Island, so it is perfect to relax and enjoy some walking and cycling.

We can exchange our house at the same time or different time, as we have access to another residence for ourselves. So we are quite flexible. Our home is in Albany 4hour drive from Perth.

last year we visited New York and part of the East coast, and had a wonderful holiday.
our next visit to the Americia we would like to travel down the West Coast having several spots on the way.

Bob and Elaine are now enjoying retirement. We like living in South Perth with every amenity close by. We enjoy going to the movies with a good selection of theatres, great coffee and eating out. Around the corner is a great little Italian restaurant, quite reasonably priced and allow BYO (BYO = 'bring your own' bottle of wine). The supermarket is within a short walking distance.
Bob is a retired pharmacist and hobbies include golf, wine collection and cooking.

In South America we will be traveling with our son and his wife.
