Our home is a typical Danish family house close to the city core of Copenhagen. It's a quiet neighborhood, children playing in the streets, nearby parks and a small lake, and you'll still reach downtown in 10 minutes by the nearby metro station.
Our home has 1 master bedroom and bathroom, a large living room with fireplace, a kitchen area, 2 kids' rooms with adult sized beds, a small room for our youngest boy, and a single room annex as guestroom. It's a well kept house, bright rooms and simply furnished (Scandinavian style some would say).
The kids have plenty of toys for kids their age. We have a number of bicycles for all ages.
It's easy to navigate for elderly people since we don't have any stairs.

We have a park area with several nice playgrounds for kids just 100 meters away. The park has a small lake where joggers run, people enjoy their coffee or ice creams at a small café and people walk their dogs.
The local shopping street is 500 meters away.
Downtown is 10 minutes away by metro. Denmark has recently become a hit in the Michelin Guide and we've got great restaurants. In Copenhagen you'll find the historic amusement park, Tivoli, The Little Mermaid, the royal castles, shopping malls, etc.
And if it's summer you can use the metro for getting to the beaches as well. There is a public pool area a 10 min. bicycle-ride away.
Public transport is great in Denmark and you'll reach every museum, beach, theater or shop you want in this way. Connections are excellent and within walking distance from our house.
You can reach Sweden in 40 minutes by train or car. There you might want to try the historic city of Lund or (very recommendable) visit the forests and lakes of Southern Sweden. You can reach Oslo, the capitol of Norway, by boat - for example take a weekend cruise which will cost little more than 100$.
Hiking, golfing, wind surfing or just about any activity apart from mountaineering can be done around Copenhagen.

Unfortunately we can't stay in homes with cats or dogs because of our allergy.

Can travel from late June until start of August - Danish school holidays.

Would prefer countryside or smaller city. Or house with garden if a bigger city. Our kids tend to be more happy with a bit of space. In Sweden and Norway we would like to stay in the countryside, close to the woods, lake and nature.

Rasmus is head of the Media dep. at one of Denmark's largest institutions of education and Anja is an communication advisor in the unions. Kids (11, 8 and 2 years old) are in kindergarden and school. The boys are playing football and energetic so we don't mind our house being used.
We're allergic to cats and dogs and our house is strictly non-smoking.
