We have recently renovated our mountain home (inside and outside, including front yard landscaping). Our home has 3 bedrooms (2 queen beds and 3 single beds), 2 full baths and one half bath in 1,700 SF on 1/2 acre. There is a large deck behind the house with a hot tub that is wonderful after a busy day out and about! The house is fully equipped with everything you might need/want. There are plenty of games, puzzles, and Xbox with a plasma TV and stereo. All the beds have down comforters. You will sleep really well in the mountain air here. July and August are the best summer months--you will want to spend all your waking time enjoying the outdoors. While we don't have any computers here, there is a wonderful library that is a five minute walk away that has multiple computers for use.

We have plenty of things for the nearby beaches (flotation and sand toys, beach chairs, umbrellas, towels) and bikes (there are large parts of the lake with bike trails running alongside). We also have badminton and horseshoe sets. If you are a golfer, we have a set for both a right hander and a left hander (we have a number of clubs that are kid sized).

For families that have two homes to offer, we are willing to exchange our primary home located in Lafayette, California (east part of San Francisco Bay Area). This home has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms in 2,800 sf on 2.5 acres. Don't let the property size fool you, we are just a few minutes from a BART train station. San Francisco is just a 45 minute car/train ride away. But, we have warmer weather in the summer (San Francisco can be foggy and cold). Thousand of acres of open space and hiking trails are located just behind our home.

Lake Tahoe is a wonderful getaway with absolutely something for everyone! Close to San Francisco Bay Area and the Napa wine country (3 hr drive away) or Sacramento (capital of California and 1 1/2 hrs away). Reno, Virginia City, and South Lake Tahoe, Nevada are all fun places (45 minutes away each).

Our neighborhood is quiet, but close to lots of activities. Our guests have access to two private beaches (one with a pool), a few minutes drive away. A Shakespeare festival runs during the summer at the best beach in all of Lake Tahoe (Sand Harbor-10 minute drive). There are lots of wonderful hikes (from easy to very difficult), including the Tahoe Rim Trail (surrounds Lake Tahoe). There are several casinos a short drive away. There are jazz festivals, golf courses, concerts, craft fairs, shopping, boat rentals (kayaks, sailing, motor), para sailing and jet skiing, you name it! A grocery store is close by as well as a movie theater and bowling alley. Did I mention that we have golf? There are two beautiful courses within a three minute drive that are open to the public. There are five in our family. Steve, Caroline, Connor (20), Morgan (18), and Anna (14). We did three exchanges in 2010 (Paris, Amsterdam, Austria) and three in England and can't wait to do more! We will be considerate of your family home. Steve is a partner in a general contracting company located in the SF Bay Area. Caroline manages a commercial real estate loan office for a Bay Area based bank. Our primary home is in Lafayette (San Francisco Bay Area). We have a dog, Mocha (lab, pointer mix) and a cat named Nicholas (don't worry, you won't need to care for them). We want our children to visit different places and experience a variety of cultures as they grow up.
