La casa
We live in a modern contemporary semi-detached house with a small and handy garden. Downstairs you will find a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, which is connecting the kitchen with a living room with a flat screen TV. And finally a shower room with a WC.
Upstairs we have the master bedroom and two rooms for our children. Adam’s room has a bunk bed and Joel`s has a single bed. The bathroom on this floor contains WC, bath with washing machine and dryer. Next to the kids rooms there are a sitting area with a sofa bed and a TV-set with a Playstation console. From this room you can enter the spacious balcony with a view over the harbor.
In the garden, connected to the dining area, you will find a sitting area and a grill.
You can also park your car in our underground garage.
Several Internet connected computers are at your disposal during your stay.
Just outside our block you can buy fresh bread every morning in our mini supermarket. On walking distance you will find a larger shopping centre with pharmacy, supermarket, florist, wine shop and more.
From Eriksberg you can take a nice harbour ferry boatride to the city centre or go by bus in 20 minutes. The boat stop, as well as the bus stop is located just minutes from our house.

Eriksberg is an area on the island Hisingen in Gothenburg where Eriksbergs Mekaniska Verkstads AB had their shipyard until bankruptcy in 1979. For over a century the area was dominated by shipbuilding but a crisis in the 1970s destroyed the industry.
Since the collapse of the shipyards, the area has been rebuilt into one of Gothenburg's finest modern neighbourhoods. The former machinery buildings have been renovated into a hotel with conference facilities. An 84 meters high gantry crane - the Eriksberg crane - stands as a remnant of the area's shipbuilding past. Along the former equipping quays lies blocks whit fancy condos, restaurants, coffeehouses, hairdressers and spa.
Trade, shipping and international contacts have distinguished Gothenburg ever since the city was founded in 1621 by Gustav II Adolf. It was built by Dutchmen, and in the 17th century the official languages were Dutch, German, Swedish and English.
Gothenburg’s climate is varied, and each season brings its own charm! Summer, June–August the temperature is often around 20–25 degrees during the day. The days are long, around 18 hours in July, and the nights are light. The sea is generally warm enough to swim in from July.
Gothenburg is close to the sea and taking a trip around the islands outside Gothenburg is always an experience. The Island ferries go from Saltholmen to all the islands in Southern archipelago. There are three ferry lines: Brännö Rödsten line, Vrångö line and Fårö line. If you would rather visit the city and harbour, take the Älvsnabben harbour ferry over Göta River.
Eriksberg is also the home port for the amazing ship, the Swedish East Indiaman "Götheborg". This ship was also build on the docks of Eriksberg and can bee visited during the summer when it’s not out sailing. More info www.soic.se

We are looking for weekends in Europe all year around. For summer 2011 we are open for any suggestion that we can reach by cheap air-fares (Ryan Air etc) or not too far by car. We will consider every proposal we get, so please do not hesitate to contact us.

We are a family of four; Niclas & Malin are in our early fourties. We have two boys, Joel 12 and Adam 9 years old. Joel and Adam are both in the computer-age and spend a lot of their time at the internet, or playing TV-games. Niclas is working as a Technology Specialist at Volvo Cars and Malin is working as an Employment Officer.
Outside school and work, Niclas, Joel and Adam are active in The Swedish Guide and Scout Association. Adam is also playing football. We also have a Lagotto Romagnolo dog of 2 years, named Melvin who enjoys playing and long walks. He will not be at home when you stay here.We also like to go for walks by the waterfront and have picnics outdoors and socialize with friends over a nice dinner and a fine wine, or go and listen to the Symphonic orchestra or to the movies.
