We love our home - it's comfortable and relaxing and we hope you'll like it too.


The house is set over 3 floors. On the Ground Floor we have a Dining Room with double aspect window, large Shower Room and an even larger Lounge/Dining/Family Room complete with Italian kitchen, integrated appliances and porcelain floor. The patio doors lead out onto the decking area with seating, lighting, a water feature and built in barbecue - why not enjoy some alfresco dining or a glass of wine or a cool beer whilst your sausages sizzle on the barbecue. .

Stairs lead up to the large lounge with partially vaulted ceiling, large wall mounted LCD TV, Teac Sound System and seating for 10. Master Bedroom with Ensuite Shower Room and separate bathroom. On the top floor are another 2 bedrooms with stunning views across the village and surrounding hills and separate WC.

Scotland is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, I've travelled to many wonderful places, but Scotland is hard to beat for heritage, natural beauty, history, traditional food and produce, and the dry Scottish humour, hey and not forgetting the whisky.

Our village Auchenblae is very beautiful and very, very old. There's a real community spirit in the village with events and something going on almost every week. There's the local church, primary school and creche, shop, post office, coffee shop, bowling green, Putting Green, Dramatic Society, WRI, Womens Guild, Coffee Mornings, etc - we even have our own golf course. We have lovely, neighbours, we really do love it here.

Close by you will find the village of Fettercairn, and more importantly you can visit the Whisky Distillery there.

30 mins drive will take you to the ancient university City of Aberdeen, the third largest in Scotland, it has quite a condensed city centre and many of the main streets have been pedestrianised with no through traffic.

Aberdeen used to be famous for it's harbour and it's fishing industry, now better known for it's connection with the oil industry and University. With a busy working harbour and a lovely beach, fine restaurants, pubs, clubs, seafront, castles, museums, beautiful countryside, nature trails, forests. . . . I could go on and on.

15 mins will take you to the delightful town of Stonehaven with it's picturesque harbour, perfect for perching yourself on the wall outside one of the pubs watching the boats bobbing around on a summer evening with a pint of ale in your hand.

15 minutes in the other direction will take you to Montrose, 40 to Dundee, 90 mins to Stirling and less than 2 hours to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

We're a down to earth easy going couple. We've hosted many hospitality exchanges in our last 2 homes and after an absence of a few years (due to building and moving) we're excited to join Home Exchanging again.

We have a Renault Megane and a Saab with Sat Nav which could possibly be included in the exchange. The house is a non-smoking home but there are sheltered outside areas where you can partake in a cigarette.

I'd be delighted to help you plan your trip and associated activities. I have lots of books, maps and info on local castles, estates, sights and trips. I'm a born organiser and would be more than happy to help you in any way that I can to make your stay even more enjoyable.

During your stay you will be able to visit and enjoy Whisky Distilleries, (they'll even give you a free sample at the end of your visit, a trip to Loch Ness to look for Nessie, Glasgow and Edinburgh are only two hours away. Aberdeen is home to some fantastic museums including the great Maritime Museum, we have a busy harbour and fishmarket, a large beach complex with restaurants, nightclubs and amusements for the kids. The city of Aberdeen is ancient, wander around Marischall College, the Cathedral, the art gallery, Provest Skene's House, take a city tour on an open top double decker bus, do some traditional Scottish Dancing or taste haggis for the first time.

We really are open to suggestions when it comes to dates and destinations. We're looking for holidays as a couple and very flexible when it comes to dates.

We're open to all offers everywhere - especially Asia, The States (including Florida) South Africa and South and Central America. We're also very interested in short break stays/weekends in the UK.

We're Amanda and Steve, 45 and 38. I'm an ex Hotelier/Publican and now builds and renovates property. Steve works in the Oil and Gas Industry in Aberden for a Hydrographics Company.

We have one senior puss called Lenny and 2 Shar Pei called Huxley and Blossom who are highly entertaining but will be boarded out during your visit, unless it's a Hospitality Exchange of course.

We love to travel and meet new people and will look after your house as if it were our own. This is our main residence and we would prefer a similar exchange/set-up.
