Our home is a townhouse in Copenhagen. The house has 3 floors and a basement. Ground floor has an open modern kitchen with a dining table for up to 10 persons and a living room with sofa and TV and dvd player. From the kitchen there is a direct access to a wooden terrace with evening sun. First floor has two bedrooms; one with a double bed and one with a single bed. Also, there is a bathroom with toilet and bathtub. The newly renovated second floor has two bedrooms with single beds and a toilet.
In the basement there is a bathroom with toilet and shower as well as a play room for the kids with TV, DVD and Wii (and a double bed, which makes it suitable for a bedroom too.)
The house has a small garden with garden furniture, a swing and a play house and loads of sun during the day (there is a parasol as well).

We live in Valby, which is part of Copenhagen, but has its own city centre with shops, cafés and restaurants. Close by (about 10 min. walk) there are two great parks that are good for picnics, feeding the ducks, walking, jogging etc. In the parks is also Copenhagen Zoo, which is beautiful and has a special children’s zoo, where the kids can pet the animals etc.
All daily shopping, cafés and restaurants are within walking distance.
There is a 5 minutes’ walk to buses and the train station from where local trains can be catch for Copenhagen city centre. It is a 10 minutes ride to Copenhagen central station, from where there are connections for Sweden (about half an hour away) and the airport (15 minutes). Regional trains for other parts of Denmark, leaves from the local train station as well. All in all, everything is within easy reach by public transport: the airport, the city centre, the beach, forests…

We will be able to exchange the whole month of July and first two weeks of August. The rest of the year we will be able to travel only for shorter periods due to work and school.

We are looking for an exchange worldwide for the summer 2013, such as Mexico, the US, Indonesia, Kenya....we are open for any suggestions. We are also interested in shorter exchanges (eg. weekend getaways) within Europe at any time.

We are a family of 2 adults and 3 kids; two boys (4 and 10) and a girl (7). We (daddy: Jeppe and Mom: Trine) both political scientists working for the government. Summer of 2011, we exchanged for a house in France, which was a great experience for the whole family.
As a family, we love to go to the zoo during the weekends or visit friends and family. We have a car but most of the time we go by bicycle or public transport.

In the household there is also a children friendly cat and an aquarium with small fish. It would be great if you would look after them while staying, otherwise we can find another place for the cat to stay.
