Our home is a welcoming, comfortable home in Washington, D.C. convenient to downtown and the surrounding area. The house, with its balcony, side porch and deck has the charm of its Spanish Colonial style. The ground floor has a living room with fireplace, dining room, updated kitchen, half bath and sunroom with a wide screen TV, DVD and sound system. The second floor has two bedrooms with comfortable queen beds, 2 offices and 2 baths, one with shower and one with a bath and shower. The lower level has a large furnished and carpeted room with a comfortable couch that pulls out to a queen bed, a bath with shower, and a laundry room. There is a deck off of the living room overlooking a pretty perennial garden. The house is well maintained and furnished. There is wi-fi throughout. Because of our brood of grandchildren we have equipment for a baby or small child (pack and play, high chair and 2 car seats).
We also have an aero bed for the basement.

Our house is in Chevy Chase, D.C., and is within walking distance of shops, the metro, grocery stores, movie theaters, restaurants, a renowned book store, and a playground for children of all ages. A new acquatic center with olympic size lanes, hot bath, and children's pool is less than 10 minutes by car. Most of the major museums and sites are a 15-20 minute Metro ride away. Downtown is also accessible through lovely Rock Creek Parkway. We are also just 45 minutes from Baltimore, 2.5 hours from Philadelphia, 2.5 hours to the beaches, and 4 hours from Williamsburg. Our well maintained 2004 BMW 320 is available in exchange for another car.

We are generally flexible. We are interested in an exchange from 1-4 weeks.

We are interested in urban areas that have rich cultural resources and parks. Temperate times of the year would be preferable. We're also equally interested in rural areas in beautiful settings where there is hiking and the weather is likely to be good.

My husband and I are in our late 60's, early 70's We are both semi-retired. I am a social worker/psychotherapist and he is a judge. We both enjoy reading and walking. We love visiting museums and attending concerts. I am an avid gardener. We have the good fortune to have eight grandchildren ranging in age from 1-13 who along with their parents are an important part of our lives. We have a great interest in the wide world and have traveled extensively. Our schedules are usually flexible,
