I live on the 16th floor of a 17 story apartment building. There is no apartment above me or on three out of the four sides ( there's only a small penthouse above me, and a small studio on one side), which makes it very quite and very bright. The building is immaculate- and is staffed by the friendliest crew. There is someone at the door 24 hours a day. There is laundry int the building as well as a small play room for small children.
My apartment is about 700 sq feet. It has one large bedroom with a queen-sized bed, desk and closet space. There is one full, newly renovated bathroom, an eat in kitchen, and a living room space with a pullout sofa. The sofa is truly top of the line - with an amazing pull out sofa bed (instead of a mattress with springs, it has a foam mattress which is incredibly comfortable. In fact, I paid a lot more for my sofa than I did for my bed. I love having guests and wanted a bed that was truly comfortable for them). There is a 40" flat screen TV with over 1000 channels (HD), as well as wireless internet access).

My apartment building is in the heart of the Upper West Side. I live 1/2 block from Central Park West (across from Strawberry Fields), and walking distance to almost all of the city's world famous museums. The neighborhood is largely residential, but also has incredible shopping, cafes and restaurants of all types. My building is one block from 5 major subway lines which can take you to any part of the city you wish to see. I simply love living in this part of Manhattan!

I am a 30-something single woman working as a school counselor in a Middle and Upper School in the city. I love being active (I'm a runner) and take full advantage of having the park literally steps from my building. For those interested, there is also a gym less than one block away. As I work for a school, I have my summers off, and school vacations. I am most interested in exchanging for July and August at this time. I will likely be traveling with my closest girlfriend from college.
