LOOKING FOR EXCHANGE APRIL 27 - MAY 5.

Our two-storey house was built in 2009. The design and layout of the house is entirely our own idea and taste. The house has become modern and sleek through the influence of Daniel (also the architect of the building) in combination with the colorful and warm touch of Saskia. The house is on the ground and second floor of a small building of 20 apartments. It is a corner house with panoramic views on water, park and city at three sides! You will not find those kind of views so easily in Amsterdam... The living room has two enormous sliding windows, which on summer days you can open completely. Through the huge windows you always experience an outdoor feeling.

Located on the ground floor are:
- the open kitchen;
- the living room (flat TV + Blu ray);
- the garden/terrace (south)
- a small office with PC (wireless Internet);
- a bathroom (shower and bath, 2 washbasins);
- a separate toilet,
- the master bedroom with double bed (flat TV + DVD player) and view at the lake from the bed(!);

On the first floor are located:
- two (children's) bedrooms, each with a single bed.

The house has an independent heat and cold storage. The house has heated floors in cold weather and cool floors during hot weather.

Nice note: Our house has been used for several magazine articles and architectural tours.

The house is located in Amsterdam, IJburg district. This neighborhood is built on specially-made islands (like Dubai) and is known for its variety of living environments and modern architecture. Our house is on the best spot of 'Steigereiland' (Jetty Island). Tram 26 takes you every 7 minutes in just 15 minutes to the Amsterdam city centre. The district provides year-round holiday feeling, everything is about the water. There are several swim decks within walking distance. In the neighborhood you can rent kayaks to admire the architecture from the water. Using our own boat and kayak is an option.

IJburg has two citybeaches of which nearby beach Blijburg is the place to be for the urban Amsterdam residents.

There is a small shopping center within walking distance (supermarkets, bakery, butchery, postoffice, giftshops etc) and various nice restaurants.

Across the lake there is a large park with lots of rabbits where you can walk, rollerblade and cycle. We have two adult bikes (with seats for two children) and two (small) childrens bikes. You can also easily rent bikes in the citycentre, Amsterdam is ideal for cycling.

Besides all attractions in Amsterdam, touristic fishing village Volendam and castle Muiderslot are within several kilometers and highly recommended. The house is ideal for water sports lovers and architecture enthusiasts!

Small children can have their fun with all the toys around the house. Older kids can shop, visit cool musea or movies, or just hang out in the city.

Please surprise us! But the location has to be 'travelable' for our two small children.
We are booked for the summer of 2013. We are looking for an exchange from April 27 till May 5 2013.

We are Daniel (39) and Saskia (35). We have two children, Roemer (7) and Brisa (4) and are a happy, musical, non-smoking and hardworking family. You will find piano's and guitars all over the place...
Daniel is an architect and Saskia a PR consultant and photographer.

We have succesfully exchanged houses twice (Barcelona-Spain and Texel-Netherlands), and are very excited about it.
We are open to all destinations within Europe, but also in the Netherlands! Besides the summer we are also interested in short exchanges during school holidays or maybe a long weekend.
We are looking for a house that gives us the same feelings as our own: luxury and warmth with a fantastic environment. We prefer nature around us, because we are so used to the city. That can be water, mountains, a forest, but please surprise us! And the children will love a garden or terrace, so they can play safely outside. Therefore we are looking for a groundfloor house.

We have three cats, living in and around the house. They have to be cared for during the exchange. Of course a pet in the home exchange is no problem! Unfortunately you cannot bring your own pet into our house, because the cats simply will not allow it... The cats live mostly outside, they won't bother you much.
