Quietly situated in de district "Watergraafsmeer" just east of the centre of Amsterdam, we are an excellent starting point for exploring the historic city centre, the museums, and the nightlife of Amsterdam.
You can walk to restaurant de Kas and Restaurant La Vallade. The Artis Zoo is five minutes away by bicycle. A daily market - "Dappermarkt" - and the Tropical Museum are literally around the corner. We have great neighbours, a local supermarket and delicatessen shops in our street. All our house exchangers have commented on the good atmosphere of this popular corner of Amsterdam.
The city centre is only ten minutes away by streetcar or bus. On our bicycles, it will take you 12 minutes... Amsterdam has a lot to offer; The Rijks museum, Van Gogh museum, the beautiful centre of town (see Amsterdam website: www2.holland.com/amsterdam/gb. And consider other attractions in the Netherlands: in under an hour, you’re in Rotterdam, Keukenhof, Zaanse Schans, Delft and other beautiful spots in Holland. |

Living in Amsterdam gives you the possibility to really experience the city, and to take full advantage of all the cultural activities that it has to offer. We find living in Amsterdam (after living abroad for 12 years) fantastic. There truely is an international atmosphere, people are open and open-minded, and once you get to know the city, it feels like a village. There is much to do at walking or cycling distance (there is a big ice-skating ring at a 5 minute bicycle ride from our house, and going the other way you'll get to the theatres, restaurants and museums in about 10 minutes) We will give you plenty of information on what to do & see in this city and will do our best to make you feel at home here.

For 12 years, we lived abroad (mainly in European countries but in the US as well) and we like to continue our exposure to other cultures, and share this with our children.
We are experienced house exchangers and will take excellent care of your home. We will provide you with all the information you need to get around in Amsterdam, plus a list of our favorite restaurants and sights!
