Es un piso doble de 200 m2, que hace esquina en un edificio típico de esta zona centro, con más de 100 años pero bien conservado y de calidad. Es un segundo piso con ascensor pero hay que bajar unas pocas escaleras para usarlo, de techos altos con ventiladores, todo con balcones grandes, Está dividido en dos casas separadas e independientes en todo, a las que se accede por un hall común, en el que hay 2 puertas de entrada con llave a cada casa.

La casa que intercambiamos en verano, es la zona de la izquierda, con 3 dormitorios, 2 dobles y 1 individual, tenemos además 1 cama supletoria y una cuna de viaje, por lo que puede ser para 5 personas o mas y algun niño. Hay un pequeño cuarto de estar, cocina y 2 baños, uno sin WC, pero hay un WC en el hall comun a los dos pisos si lo necesitais.. Esta casa la alquilamos a estudiantes extranjeros que están de Septiembre a Junio, por lo que estaría disponible para intercambios a finales de Junio, en Julio, hasta final de Agosto. Las fotos son de esta zona del piso que es al que intercambiomos de forma no simultanea.

La otra casa, a la derecha, tiene 3 habitaciones más grandes (de 15,20 y 25 m2), todas tienen cama doble, TV con TDT (la más grande con DVD), mesas, sillas y butacas, con otra cocina y baño completo, que alquilamos por un año a estudiantes de master generalmente, por lo que estaría disponible para intercambios de hospitalidad en verano, por lo que no hemos puesto fotos de esta casa pero las mandamos por email.

Intercambiaríamos una de las casas como pisos independientes, y una o varias habitaciones en los intercambios de hospitalidad.Nuestras casas estarán limpias antes y después de estar vosotros, por lo que no es necesario que limpiéis antes de iros, aunque sí dejarlo todo recogido. Esperamos lo mismo en vuestra casa. Si necesitáis que nuestra asistenta vaya mas días a limpiar puede ir a 10 euros la hora. También podemos buscar canguro (precio razonable a convenir).

It is a doble flat of 200 m2, in an typical building within downtown Madrid more than 100 years old, but in good condition and quality. It is a second floor with lift but you need up some stairs for use, high ceilings with ventiladords, big windows/balconies. It is divided into two homes separates and independents with a common hall, where is 2 doors with key to every home.

The home for exchanges in summers, at the left, with 3 bedrooms, 2 double and 1 single, there is also 1 supleroria bed and a travelling cradle for childs, so you wuld stay 5 or more. There is a small dining-room, kitchen and two bathrooms- the one with all except WC, there are one WC in the hall commun to the 2 flats. We rent this home to foreign students from September to June, so it hald be free for exchange in end June, July, August and beginning September. The pictures are of this home.

The other home, to the right, contains 3 bigger bedrooms (15, 20 and 25 m2), all bedrooms include double beds, cable TV- the biggest also with DVD-, tables, chairs, and armchairs, with another kitchen, one complete bathroom and toilet, which we rent yearly to master students in general, so it would only be available for hospitality exchanges in summer.. There are not pictures of thIs home in the listing but I can send.

We would exchange one of the homes as independents flats, and one or more bedrooms for hospitality exchanges. Our houses will be thoroughly cleaned before and after your stay, so there is no need for you to clean anything before you go, but we kindly ask you to leave it tidy and expect the same in your home. Our housekeeper is also available if you need her to go more often -10 euros/hour. We would look also baby-sit if you need it.

The condominium is situated in the famous area of Los Austrias, where you can find the Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral. It is in La Latina neghborhoog, right at La Latina Square, where the famous El Rastro flea market starts on Sundays. It is very close to Cava Baja, the place to be if you want to enjoy our tapas along with some drinks Spanish style, and nearby Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, where KM 0 of all roads in Spain starts.

At La Latina Square there is a taxi rank, several bus stops and the very convenient underground station of La Latina. You can easily come from the airport by taxi –some 30 euro and no more than an hour, depending on the traffic- or by underground, with two changes and a small supplement on the fare, but it will be less if you buy a ticket for 10 trips, always wise as you can also use it for busses.

In the surrounding streets you can also find many shops and some of the most famous restaurants in Madrid, like Casa Botin, Casa Lucio y Malacatín. You’ll find supermarkets, a very big grocery market just in front of the well-known La Latina Theatre.

LUGARES PARA VISITAR/PLACES TO VISIT:MADRID:
- The historical centre: El Rastro is a huge flea market that is set every Sunday morning starting in our very same street. Cava Baja is the place to go if you want to have "Tapas" for lunch after visiting El Rastro, the way we all of us do. You can go to "Taberna Aljaraque" in street Cava Baja, you would hear flamenco and eat tapas.
The Royal Palace, and the Plaza Mayor are within walking distance and all a ‘must’ if you come to Madrid. Go to dinner late in friday to "Meson de la Guitarra", close Mayor Square, the best Tortilla Española and you can hear "La Tuna", tipical spanish music and Flamenco other nights in the week also.
Puerta del Sol square is close, It is a nice area for shopping too but, pls, BEWARE OF PICKPOCKETS – they are experts in tourists!(also in others places like public transports).
- Museums: El Prado, Reina Sofia, and Thyssen, are all within walking distance. Other are - Museum of America, Natural Science,...
- Tourist bus, day and night (nice in Xmas): Cibeles, Puerta de Alcalá, El Retiro Park, Descalzas Reales Convent, Liria Palace, Debod Temple, Las Ventas Bullring, Bernabeu Stadium,...
- Attractions: Xanado – a shopping centre with an indoor ski slope, Attraction Park, Zoo, Aquarium, Warner Park (metro line direct in 7 minutes to tren to the park), ...

ALREDEDORES/AROUND: If you like to sky, you can go to Navacerrada, only 50 KM away from Madrid. And if you want to visit other cities, the following are within 40 km and 200 km:

- DAY-TRIP: Segovia, early in the moorning, to visit the Aqueduct, the Alcazar and the historical centre and be sure to have lunch in the very well-known restaurant "Casa Candido", where the best offer is suckling pork. The Palace of La Granja is on the way from Madrid if you have time to visit before. After go to El Escorial, with a huge Palace and a very nice stone village. From there you can have a quick look at Avila in the afternoon,, if only to enjoy the magnificent wall around the medieval city, wonderfulat night also. The best will be go in car if you want to visit all the places, if you´ll go only one there are bus and train.

- DAY-TRIP: Aranjuez, early in the morning, with three splendid Palaces, and a very charming park. On your way back to Madrid, you can also stop at the medieval village of Chinchón and lunch in the Mayor Square. Cuenca is also a nice city and you wpuld go after, where you can see the famous "Casas Colgantes" - one is even a restaurant . You can also visit the "Ciudad Encantada" before and the Stone Monastery. The city of Alcala de Henares is also interesting on your way back to Madrid and dinin in tipical famous mesones for universitary students.The best will be go in car and visit all.

- DAY-TRIP: Toledo, a ‘must’ and so close! Don’t forget to wait til night time to enjoy the overwhelming view from the Parador of Toledo under the lights. The best will be go in train, only 20 minutes from Atocha Station, near our flat, also there are a lot of bus in Mendez Alvaro Station Sur. You would sleep in the old city and go to others cities in the sud of Spain from here. If you will go with car,go y¡to parking in Transito neigborhood, close to Greco´home, you can make a tour around the city and came back easy

- DAY-TRIP: Salamanca, with so many monuments to visit that you might like to stay overnight and from here you will go to other cities in Spain

I’ve been in Madid for a week from 27th of december to 3th of January 2008. Madrid is really a woderfull place and the home where we‘ve been was perfect. It is in a district called La Latina. This area is really nice there are a lot of place where you can go to drink of eat and enjoing your life. There are a lot of people durring the evening and during the night but is a place really quiet,not noisy confortable and happy. The home is located in a really central place and extremily comfortable in fact just out the door of this home there is a metro stop, then we have often used! We went to Madrid many times in the past and knew that the place where their flat is located is great, but during our last stay we had an even better impression. That part of the city called La Latina is one of the most beautiful and typical. There are a lot of restaurants, bars, shops and theatres nearby, and just three minutes walking you are in stunning Plaza Mayor and in Puerta del Sol. The house is spacious, well equipped, located in an old building, but it´s clean and comfortable. It´s close to metro station and bus stop. Our stay was perfect, the house is good. Madrid is a nice city,however quite hot to visit during the summer. It’s dry. We visited some cities like, Segovia, Avila, El Escorial, Aranjuez and Toledo. I appreciated Toledo, but my sons were amazed with Aranjuez, principally with the palace. We hadn’t time to visit vale de los caidos, but I guess we visited the most important places. INTERCAMBIOS DE CASAS: Preferimos intercambios de una semana a diez dias de duración aproximadamente, tambien es lo que ofrecemos, que es lo necesario para ver Madrid y sus alrededores. Mas es dificil ya que tenemos muchos intercambios y no tenemos mas dias para cada uno, y nosotros no tenemos mucho tiempo para estar en un mismo lugar y una semana o 10 dias aproximadamente, nos parece perfecto.

FECHAS: MADRID CENTRO, solo esta disponible el piso de final de Junio, Julio, hasta final de Agosto, pero nosotros podemos ir en otras fechas y somos muy flexibles. FUERTEVENTURA, esta disponible todo el año menos algunos intercambios reservados.

HOSPITALIDAD: MADRID, podemos acoger en intercambio de hospitalidad en habitaciones de algunos de nuestros 3 pisos que tenemos en el centro de Madrid si estan libres, solo desde medidos de Junio hasta final de Septiembre, despues estara todo alquilado. FUERTEVENTURA, no es posible intercambios de hospitalidad pues no vivimos alli.

HOME EXCHANGES: We prefer exchanges of one week or ten days approx. Also it is the time necesary for you visit Madrid and other cities around. Perhaps in Fuerteventura could stay more time. GRAN FAMILIA: Yo soy Carmen, abogada, que me encargo de todos los intercambios aunque a veces no vaya, pues no trabajo y tengo mucho tiempo, mi marido es Carlos, Piloto de Líneas Aéreas, los dos tenemos 49 años y vivimos muy cerca de uno de los pisos que intercambiamos en el centro de Madrid, y tenemos una hija, Verónica, de 27 años que ha estudiado Turismo, trabaja en New York para largo plazo, por lo que tambien hacemos intercambios de hospitalidad con su habitacion con baño individiual que esta en su piso situado en barrio de alto standing de Madrid; Pilar 47, Directora de oficina bancaria y Carlos 48 Técnico en electronica, que viven en Toledo con sus hijos Pilarcita 18 y Carlitos 14. Lupe 45, Traductora inglesa que vive en Madrid y su novio Maarten 46 que es holandés, suelen ir a los intercambios, algunas veces con las hijas de Lupe, Clara 15 y Bea de 14 Maria Jose 38, ama de casa que vive en Toledo con su marido Jos de 45, Inversor, y sus dos hijas Laura de 10 y Lucia de 9 años. Mi amiga Brunella aporta a los intercambios su piso de Fuereventura en las Islas Canarias.
