Comfortable and stylish 2 BR, 2 bath home located on 2 acres in the beautiful southwest Colorado San Juan mountains at 7800 ft. The main living area is on the second floor to provide unparalleled views of the Cimarron Mountain range from the living room and wrap-around deck. The newly redecorated master BR has a king-size bed and is adjacent to the master bath with shower. The kitchen has all major appliances and there is a new Stainless Steel gas grill on the deck. The living room is very comfortable with the dining area set in a bay window overlooking the mountains. There is a sofa bed, and also a new Flat Screen HDTV, Blu-ray disc/DVD player, HD Dish satellite, Sony Surround Sound and Roku streaming Netflix. The guest bedroom with twin beds and study with fold out bed and computer are on the lower level, as is the second full bath with tub/shower, and garage. Deer, wild turkeys, eagles and hawks are often on our property, and there is an elk herd in winter residence on our mesa. Sit on the deck and enjoy the view and our sunny, mild climate, or soak in our hot tub underneath the Milky Way on a clear, dark night.

As snow often puts in an appearance in winter, we provide a 4wd Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo for your convenience, so you won’t have to miss a day of skiing. There is also a powerful, self-propelled snowblower if the snow gets too deep (unlikely), but the Jeep will get you out in up to a foot.

Our house is located on two acres in Log Hill Village on a mesa above Ridgway, a small town of friendly, interesting people, with several excellent restaurants, shops, and a fine medical clinic. Our private, peaceful setting is a welcome haven for stressed out city dwellers. John Wayne’s classic "True Grit", for which he won an Oscar, was filmed in Ridgway and the surrounding area. For railroad buffs the town is famous as a terminus for the narrow-gauge Rio Grande Southern, and the Durango & Silverton RR carries tourists through the fabulously scenic Animas river valley behind coal burning steam locomotives. Ouray, often called the “Switzerland of America”, is to the south and features more fine restaurants and fun shops. There is an active art and music scene year round. Major chain stores and a convenient airport are available in Montrose .

Less than 45 min from Telluride, one of Colorado’s finest ski resorts (but with short lift lines!), and 1½ hrs from Durango Mountain. There is cross-country skiing and snowshoeing (use our snowshoes, and skis if they fit) in the surrounding mountains for all abilities. Some of the best mountain hiking and mountain biking in the US is near our door. Winter/spring hiking at lower elevations is less than two hours north. The Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is just east of Montrose. Moab, Utah, with its fantastic arches and rock formations in two national parks, is only three hours. There is a great golf course 5 minutes from our house. There are even public hot springs in Ridgway and Ouray, as well as our own hot tub on the deck. What a wonderful way to relax those sore muscles after a day on the slopes or the trails!

Tom is a retired PhD chemist and Pat is a semi-retired Respiratory Therapist. Our children have all grown and we have one grandson. We love Colorado and the abundant sunshine but like to travel to other destinations. We enjoy all kinds of activities including boating, hiking, skiing and camping, as well as good old laying around in the sun on a beach.
