We love our cosy one bedroom city flat on a quiet tree lined-street in a beautiful part of London. The living room is spacious and has a dining area which can seat 6 people, and there is a small, well equipped kitchen with a washing machine and dishwasher. The flat is set across the first floor front of a Victorian detached house with large mature garden at the rear. We have digital TV and a wireless connection for your laptop. Our cleaner would be happy to do some ironing or cleaning for you by arrangement.

Our area is locally known as “The Gardens” because of the wealth of huge trees and exotic plants, shrubs and birds here. The street is extremely quiet and yet our house is only 3 minutes away from the West Hampstead tube station on the Jubilee Line, which is the fastest underground line in London and most efficient (with trains every 1-2 minutes during the day and every 3-4 minutes at weekends and evenings) and takes us to the heart of the city (Bond St/Oxford St)in just 10 minutes. The adjacent Silver Link train station takes you to Hampstead Heath in 3 minutes, If you want a short hop to the hustle and bustle of the inner city and enjoy the prospect of being based in a green and pleasant part of town, this would be the right location for you.

You will also be under 90 minutes from the beautiful cities of Oxford, Cambridge, Brighton and Bath. The Eurostar train link is only a few tube stops away and takes you to Paris from London in just 2 hours 15 minutes.

The Neighbourhood

West Hampstead has a large array of restaurants and pubs but it's also is close to Hampstead Heath, (one of our favourite places in London as it is the largest and wildest natural open space in the city).

It has all the ameneties you will need including shops, proximity to local theatres and cinemas, internet cafes and a library. The lively high street has English, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Thai, Indian & Chinese restaurants and is especially nice for long luxurious breakfasts and people watching.


Apart from being so close to the big London attractions there is lots to do in our area and we will leave you a file of suggestions which includes our favourite walks to Hampstead Heath, Highgate cemetery, Keats' & Freud’s house, along the canals to Camden Town or Notting Hill with some insider tips on galleries, concert venues and boat rides.

Our one bedroom flat is perfect for one person or a couple but is unfortunately not suitable for children.

We are currently only looking for a one week city exchange anytime between the 12th and 28th of April 2013 and would be particularly interested in Bilbao/San Sebastian Spain or Lisbon, Portugal.

We are an English/American couple in our fifties and are both training professionals. I (Krysia) am a training consultant for a large global law firm and Kevin is a lawyer who is the firm's head of e-learning. We love travelling and have both lived in foreign countries for many years.

We have just completed our eighth exchange and love this way of getting to know new places.
